SOLID EARTH LTD run at least one 3-day earthbuilding workshop a year, usually in spring after the Ecofest in Nelson. Please check out this years Workshop schedule and find more detailed information here.

- Experiment with earthen plasters, natural paints and sealants
- Build walls and furniture from adobe brick, cob, light-earth and wattle-and-daub
- Lay a small adobe tile floor
- Sculpt a pizza oven
- Do artwork such as mosaics and reliefs
- Learn more about basic earthbuilding and professional techniques
- Visit a commercial adobe brick manufacture

) SOLID EARTH LTD are pleased and excited to advise that we have invested in a used plastering machine from Germany.The pump is a OMD PTF (Mix-Pump-Spray), which is considered to be state of the art plaster application equipment. Its capacity and size will allow us to render with clay and lime. The twin body is designed to mix in one compartment whilst pumping from the other, reducing delays and saving our backs. This device will make exterior and interior rendering of straw bale, the most time consuming part of that specific construction method, much easier. We will also be able to use it for base coats of earthen plaster in big scale projects on substrates such as mud brick, concrete block or GiB board. |
